A 4 ct elongated oval lab-grown yellow diamond, canary in tone, set in yellow gold so the metal deepens the color instead of competing with it. It is a big stone on a slim band, and the proportion is deliberate.

The setting

Four claws hold the oval over an open basket with a rail running beneath it, which braces the claws and keeps the head low for a stone of this size. The band is about 1.8–2.0 mm and set on its upper half with about 12–16 small white rounds per shoulder in shared prongs, a line of white leading into the yellow on each side. The back is plain, which keeps the ring comfortable and makes resizing simpler. Four claws show more of the stone than six; the trade is that each claw carries more load and should be checked periodically.

Does the metal color change how the yellow looks?
Yes. Yellow gold reflects warm light into the stone and makes the yellow look richer; white metal would make it read paler and cooler. The ring is photographed in yellow gold, and you can choose another metal if you prefer a crisper contrast.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The design, the cut and the carat weight, yes. Individual stones vary slightly, and colored stones in particular read differently under daylight and warm indoor light. We photograph your finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Where does the color come from?
Lab-grown colored diamonds take their color either from trace elements during growth or from a treatment after growth, and the certificate states which. Either way the color is stable in normal wear and cleaning; avoid holding the ring in a jeweler's torch flame during any repair, which is the one thing that can alter treated color.

Is the center stone certified?
Yes. Every center stone of 1 carat and above ships with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, color and clarity. Accent and pave stones are matched to the same color and clarity range but are not individually certified.
