The coils are full and rounded rather than the fine twisted-wire version, so the ring has real weight on the hand and the spiral reads as a sequence of gold pillows rather than a wound thread. The band

About the gold

Solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold, or platinum, in the color you choose — never plated, never filled. Higher karats are richer in color and softer; 14K is the usual choice for a band worn every day, 18K for one that is worn a little more carefully. Every band is stamped with its karat on the inside.

Common questions

How heavy is it, actually?
Heavier than it looks in a photograph — the coils are solid, not hollow. In 14K it is roughly the weight of a plain 5mm band; in platinum, noticeably more. If weight matters to you either way, ask us for the figure in the metal you are considering before ordering.

Does a twisted band catch on clothing?
No — every surface on it is rounded and polished, with no edges or points. A rope band is one of the safer shapes for daily wear, which is part of why the design has stayed around as long as it has.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?

Is this solid gold or plated?
Solid, all the way through, in the karat you select. Nothing here is plated or filled, and the inside of the band carries the karat stamp. A solid band can be polished and resized for as long as you own it, which is the whole argument for buying one rather than a plated ring.
