A flat band with both outer edges cut away at an angle. Those two chamfers are the entire design, and they do more than they should: instead of one flat reflection you get three separate planes of light, and the band looks slimmer than its because the eye reads the face rather than the full width.

The band

The bevels have to be cut at the same angle and the same depth right around, or the flat face between them wanders in width and the ring looks handmade in the wrong sense. Face and chamfers are polished in separate passes so the boundary between them stays a crisp line rather than a rolled edge — that crisp line is what the whole ring is for. Interior comfort-curved.

About the gold

Solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold, or platinum, in the color you choose — never plated, never filled. Higher karats are richer in color and softer; 14K is the usual choice for a band worn every day, 18K for one that is worn a little more carefully. Every band is stamped with its karat on the inside.

Common questions

Is this a men's band?
It is not sold as one. It is a flat 4mm beveled band and plenty of people of every description wear exactly that. It is available in every size we make, from US 3 to 10.

Do the beveled edges wear away?
The chamfer edges are the first place a flat band shows wear, and after a few years they soften slightly. A bench can re-cut them sharp again. If you would rather they stayed crisp longer, 14K is harder than 18K and holds an edge noticeably better.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Is this solid gold or plated?
Solid, all the way through, in the karat you select. Nothing here is plated or filled, and the inside of the band carries the karat stamp. A solid band can be polished and resized for as long as you own it, which is the whole argument for buying one rather than a plated ring.
