This is the round brilliant for someone who does not want a solitaire. Same stone, same carat weight, none of the four-prong silhouette — the shank curls past the diamond instead of standing under it, and the whole ring reads as a wave with a bright point at the crest.

The ring

A 1ct round brilliant sits in a half-bezel with four claws holding the crown. The bypass shank rises on one side, sweeps behind the girdle and drops away on the other, so from the side the ring has a long S-curve rather than a head sitting on a band. A round is the most forgiving shape for this setting — it has no points or pavilion quirks to work around, so the metal can do all the talking.

The band

0.75ct of larger round lab-grown diamonds in the bold pave band, bead-set in a wide channel cut to the curve of the setting. Because a 1ct round is compact face-up, the heavier band pulls visual weight down and across, making the pair look larger on the hand than the center stone alone would suggest.

About our lab-grown diamonds

Every stone we set is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Centre stones of 1 carat and above ship with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, colour and clarity. Melee and pave stones are matched to the same colour and clarity range but are not individually certified.

Common questions

How is a bypass setting different from a solitaire?
A solitaire lifts the stone on a head above a straight shank. A bypass splits the shank so it passes on either side of the stone and holds it from the sides — lower profile, more metal visible, and a curve instead of a straight line.

Is a bypass setting secure for everyday wear?
Yes. The half-bezel holds more of the stone's girdle than four prongs do, and the low profile means fewer knocks. As with any ring, have the setting checked once a year.

Does a 1ct lab-grown round look the same as a 1ct mined round?
Chemically and optically they are the same material, so yes — the difference is origin and price, not appearance. Ours are IGI certified at 1 carat and above.

Can I add a second band on the other side?
Yes, but it needs the opposite contour to nest under the other arm of the bypass. Message us and we will make a mirrored band.
