The stones do not sit in a line. Larger rounds ride high on the band, smaller ones drop below them, and the run zigzags along the top of the ring like a stitch. It is a small deviation and it changes the whole character of what would otherwise be an ordinary round band.

The band

Offsetting stone heights means each seat is cut to a different depth, alternating along the run, and the claws have to be dressed to different lengths to match. It is more bench time than a flat row, and what it buys is dimension — the band catches light at two levels instead of one, so it reads as textured rather than simply bright. Fifteen stones, 0.75 carats, on a 2mm band.

Common questions

Do the raised stones catch more?
The high stones sit about half a millimeter above the low ones, which is not enough to change how the ring behaves against fabric. The claws are dressed flush to the crowns on both levels.

Will it nest against a straight band?
The top line zigzags but the underside is straight, so against another band it sits flat. Against an engagement ring it touches at the low points, which means a slight gap at the high ones. Most people like the effect.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a small calibrated stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
