Two fine grooves run the length of this band, and eight diamonds interrupt them — each one in a bezel that cuts across the lines and stops them dead. The gold is finished satin rather than polished, which is unusual on a band this substantial and completely changes how it reads: matte, warm, almost soft, with eight hard points of light let into it.

The band

The satin finish is what makes the stones work. Against a mirror-polished band, small diamonds compete with reflections in the metal; against brushed gold they are the only bright thing on the ring. The two grooves give the eye a line to follow between them. Each bezel is set proud enough to break both grooves cleanly, so the pattern is interrupt-and-resume rather than a stone dropped on top of a stripe. Eight stones, 0.75 carats in total.

Common questions

Does a satin finish stay matte?
It softens and picks up a slight sheen over a few years — that is normal and most people like it. It can be re-brushed in minutes by any bench if you want it back to new. Nothing about the finish affects the strength of the band.

Is 4mm comfortable for daily wear?
For most people yes, particularly since the inside edge is rounded. Four millimeters is toward the wider end of what is usually worn on the ring finger alongside an engagement ring, so if you already wear a narrow band, tell us and we will send the measurements to compare.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a 0.10ct melee stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
