A fine round wire band with eight pinpoints of light sunk into it, spaced evenly right around. They sit level with the curve of the metal — no claws, no bezel walls, nothing standing above the surface. At arm's length you see a plain gold band that happens to glint.

The band

Flush-setting into a curved surface is harder than flush-setting into a flat one, because the seat has to be drilled square to a face that is turning away in two directions at once. Get it wrong and the stone sits tilted and catches light from only one side. Eight stones, 0.06 carats in total — a deliberately tiny weight, because the whole idea is a plain band with a secret rather than a diamond band.

Every stone in this band is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Common questions

Is 0.06 carats worth having?
As sparkle, barely. As a detail on a plain band, entirely — the effect comes from eight bright points against uninterrupted gold, and adding weight would destroy it. If you want a band that reads as a diamond ring, this is not it and we would rather say so.

Will flush-set stones fall out?
Flush setting is the most secure method there is — the metal is pressed down over the girdle all the way around. On a band this fine the thing to watch is the wire going out of round, not the stones.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a small calibrated stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
