Four tiny triangles of diamond, spaced evenly round an otherwise plain band. Each is three stones set into a triangular recess cut into the gold, so the cluster sits level with the surface rather than on it. From any distance it looks like a plain gold band with something glinting at intervals, which is the whole idea.

The band

Cutting a recess and grouping three stones inside it does something a single stone cannot: the three tables sit at slightly different angles, so at least one of them is always catching light as your hand moves. Twelve stones in total across the four clusters, 0.06 carats. Between the triangles the band is plain, half-round and 1.8mm — fine enough to stack two or three deep without the group looking heavy.

Every stone in this band is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Common questions

Is this too delicate to wear every day?
No — the stones are recessed below the surface, which is the most protected way to set them, and a 1.8mm half-round band in 14K is a standard everyday weight. It is fine bands with stones standing proud that get knocked; this is not one.

Can I have more or fewer clusters?
Yes. Four is what is photographed and what the spacing is worked out for, but we make it with two clusters at the front only, or with clusters all the way round. Ask us before ordering and we will quote the change.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a 0.10ct melee stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
