A radiant cut — rectangular outline, brilliant-cut inside — on a band fine enough to vanish, with a handful of small stones set at uneven intervals along each shoulder.

The setting

The radiant sits lengthwise in four claws at its cropped corners, which is where the cut is strongest. The band is narrow and carries about 0.10ct of round accents, bead-set in ones and twos with gold showing between them rather than in a continuous line. A radiant gives you the long rectangular footprint of an emerald cut with the fire of a round brilliant, and it is far more forgiving on clarity than a step cut of the same size — the faceting breaks light up and hides what an emerald cut would put on display.

Common questions

Radiant or emerald cut?
Same outline, opposite personality. Emerald is calm and shows everything; radiant sparkles hard and hides inclusions. If you want the shape but worry about clarity, this is the one.

Why claws at the corners?
The cropped corners are the thickest, strongest part of a radiant. Setting the claws there protects the stone and keeps the long sides of the outline clear.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.
