The setting

The shank does not close. It rises on one side into a three-claw head holding a pear point-up, and finishes on the other in a smooth polished gold sphere. The gap between them is deliberate and stays open on the finger, which makes the ring read as a cuff rather than a circle. Balancing a stone against a plain bead rather than a second diamond is a quieter idea and a much cheaper one, and it keeps the whole ring under a gram of gold in the fine sizes.

Common questions

Will the gap close up over time?
Not in normal wear — the shank is forged rather than cast, so it springs. Take it off before anything that would squeeze it.

Can the gold bead be replaced with a diamond later?
Yes, we can set a small stone into it. It is a bench job, not a re-make, so it is inexpensive.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Is the center stone certified?
