Small diamonds are dropped straight into the surface of the gold, scattered rather than lined up, so the band looks like water catching light.

The setting

A pear sits angled across a broad, softly waving shank. Along the wave, round accents of roughly 0.20ct in total are flush-set — each stone burnished down into its own seat so the table sits level with the gold and no metal stands above it. They are spaced irregularly rather than in a row, which is what stops the band from reading as pave. Flush setting is the most secure way to put a diamond in a wide surface, and it is the only one that leaves the silhouette of the band completely smooth.

Common questions

What does flush-set mean?
The diamond is sunk into a drilled seat and the surrounding metal is burnished over its edge, so it sits level with the surface. No claws, no beads, nothing to catch.

Do flush-set stones sparkle less?
A little less fire than a claw-set stone, because less light gets in from the sides — but they never snag and they essentially cannot fall out.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.
