Most half-bezel rings ask the band to stay out of the way. This one does the opposite. The shank is a thick, rounded ribbon that swings up, back down and up again, and the pear is caught at the top of the last curve, lying flat across the finger. Worn on its own it reads as a sculpted gold ring that happens to hold a diamond, which is exactly why people keep putting it on the little finger.

The setting

The band is round in section rather than flat, so the curves catch light the way a polished wire does, in long moving highlights instead of flat panels. The half-bezel wraps the shoulder and the flank of the pear and leaves the point and the belly open, which keeps the outline of the cut readable from above and lets light reach the pavilion from both open sides. Because the stone sits low in the wave rather than lifted above it, the whole ring clears a coat sleeve without snagging.

Common questions

Can this be worn on the little finger?
Yes, and a lot of them are. Order it in your pinky size rather than your ring size and the proportions change completely - the same wave that reads as a statement on the ring finger reads as a fine sculptural band on the little finger. Tell us which finger you are sizing for and we will check the wave clears your knuckle.

Will a wedding band sit against it?
Not flush. The shank curves away from the finger on both sides of the stone, so a straight band will touch it in two places and leave a gap in the middle. If you want a pair, we make a matching contoured band that follows the same wave - ask us before you order and we will quote them together.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher.
