The setting

The two ends of the shank come up asymmetrically to take a pear across the finger: a narrow tapered collar closes over the point, and a wider one cradles the round end. Because the stone is not symmetrical, neither is the setting, and the result reads as deliberate rather than mechanical. The flanks are open, which is where a pear loses light in a closed head, and the whole thing sits low enough to disappear under a cuff.

Which way should the point face?
Toward the thumb or toward the little finger — it is entirely personal. Tell us and we will orient it; most people prefer the point toward the index finger.

Is the point protected?
Completely. It sits inside a tapered collar of metal, which is more protection than the V-claw used on most pear rings.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.
