Nine ovals rather than thirteen, each one noticeably bigger, set so they hang out past both edges of the band underneath. From above you see almost nothing but diamond; from the side you see how little metal is holding it all up.

The band

Letting the stones overhang the shank is what makes this look expensive. A band built so the metal is as wide as the stones always reads heavier and duller, because you see gold in your peripheral vision on both sides. Set narrower, the ring disappears and the diamonds float. It takes a deeper seat and more precise claw work to do it safely, which is the trade. 1.35 carats across nine stones.

Every stone in this band is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Common questions

Does the overhang make it fragile?
It makes the claws the load-bearing part, so they need checking every couple of years — which is true of any shared-claw band, just more so here. What it does not do is put the stones at risk in normal wear; the girdles are protected between neighbors.

Will it sit flat against an engagement ring?
The stones overhang, so this one touches a neighboring ring at the stones rather than at the shank. Against a plain solitaire that is fine. Against another stone-set band, expect the two to rub — wear a plain spacer between them if that bothers you.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a small calibrated stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
