Four ovals, each one big enough to be a center stone on a smaller ring, lying across the finger in full rub-over bezels that touch end to end. There is no claw anywhere on this ring — every stone is held by a continuous wall of gold around its edge.

The band

Bezels are the most protective setting there is and also the least forgiving to make: the wall has to be cut to the exact outline of the stone, and an oval has no two identical radii. Four of them in a row, with the collets meeting so there is no gap, means four individually fitted walls that also have to line up as one continuous scalloped band. 1.60 carats total, and nothing on the ring that can snag a sweater.

Every stone in this band is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Common questions

Why bezels rather than claws for stones this size?
Protection and outline. A bezel covers the girdle, which is where a stone chips, and it gives a clean oval silhouette instead of eight claw tips. The trade-off is that a bezel covers a little more of the stone, so it reads very slightly smaller than the same diamond in claws.

Is this too much ring for everyday?
It is a 3mm band with four bezels on it — substantial, but low. Because nothing sits proud, it is one of the easier statement bands to wear daily. Whether you want 1.60 carats on your hand every day is a separate question and only you can answer it.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?

Are the diamonds certified?
