The setting

The shank is a flattened band rather than a wire, and it turns through ninety degrees as it comes round, so the face you see at the back of the finger is the edge you see at the front. The oval is claw-set where the two ends pass, tilted with the twist. Both ends broaden slightly and finish in a soft rounded tip. It is a single continuous piece with no soldered joins anywhere except where the stone sits, and the highlight running along the twist is what does the work.

Common questions

Is the twist uncomfortable?
No — the edges are rounded and the band is thinnest where it sits against the adjacent fingers. The widest part is over the knuckle side, where nothing touches.

Can it be resized?
Within about a size. The twist has to be re-formed rather than just cut and closed, so tell us your size when you order if you can.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Is the center stone certified?
