The setting

An oval sits lengthwise in four slim claws on a shank that tapers as it approaches the stone, carrying bead-set round accents along both shoulders — about 0.20ct in total. The taper is what does the work: narrowing the band at the stone makes the oval read wider than it is, and widening it toward the back keeps the ring comfortable and strong where it needs to be. No halo, no hidden stones, nothing clever. It is the default for a reason.

Common questions

How far does the pave go?
Down both shoulders and around toward the back, stopping before the underside so the ring can be resized without cutting through set stones.

Why a tapered shank rather than a straight one?
Proportion. A band that narrows at the stone makes the center look larger, and a band that widens at the back sits more comfortably and resists bending.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.
