Each shoulder carries a little group rather than a single side stone — a flat-topped trapeze cut with two small rounds tucked in beside it.

The setting

An oval is claw-set lengthwise, and at each shoulder sits a cluster: a trapeze-cut step stone angled in toward the center, with two round brilliants filling the space between it and the girdle — roughly 0.45ct of accents in total. Grouping three stones of two different cuts at each side does something a matched pair cannot: the eye reads texture rather than symmetry, and the head widens without the ring turning into a halo. The band below is fine, plain and completely undecorated so the clusters carry everything.

Common questions

What is a trapeze cut?
A four-sided step cut with two parallel edges and two angled ones — a wedge. It sits flush against a curved center stone in a way no square cut can, which is why it has been the standard shoulder stone in fine jewelry for a century.

Why mix step cuts and brilliants?
They behave differently in light. The trapeze flashes white, the rounds scintillate, so neither disappears next to the other.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher.
