The setting

From the side the claws open like tulip petals, so the head looks carved rather than assembled. With a colorless oval the engraving becomes the source of contrast: the cut metal holds shadow in its grooves while the stone above stays bright. The band is about 1.8 to 2mm and flat on top, and at the back it turns squared, a Euro shank, which gives flat sides against the finger and stops the ring from rolling, so the oval stays upright. You choose the oval in the Ring Builder, and the leaf claws are fitted to the stone you pick.

Common questions

What does the squared Euro shank do?
The lower part of the band has flat sides and a squared base instead of a round profile. That edge keeps the ring from spinning on the finger, so the oval stays centered on top, and it adds metal where bands usually wear thinnest.

Is an engraved band harder to resize?
Resizing is done at the base of the band, away from the diamond-set shoulders. Any engraving near the cut may need touching up afterward, and a large change can stretch the spacing of the pattern, so it is best to confirm your size before the ring is made.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes. The diamond in the photographs is one specific stone, so a different center will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Is the center stone certified?
Yes. Every center stone of 1 carat and above ships with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, color and clarity. Accent and pave stones are matched to the same color and clarity range but are not individually certified.
