0.30ct of small round diamonds curve out from under the oval and along the arm of the bypass, so the line of sparkle starts at the center stone rather than beneath it. The difference from a standard pave band is a millimeter of metal — and a ring that finally looks complete on its own.

The ring

The 1ct oval sits across the finger in the half-bezel, four claws at the shoulders, the bypass shank curving behind. Set into the lower arm of that curve is a bead-set line of round lab-grown diamonds, 0.30ct in total, tapering as it runs toward the shank. Because the pave is on the ring itself the profile stays low — there is no second band adding height under the setting unless you want one.

The band

The fitted band that comes with the set is cut to the same contour in polished gold. It nests under the ring with no gap and no diamonds of its own, which keeps the pair from reading as two competing lines of pave. Wear it under the ring, or on the other hand.

About our lab-grown diamonds

Every stone we set is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behaviour as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Centre stones of 1 carat and above ship with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, colour and clarity. Melee and pave stones are matched to the same colour and clarity range but are not individually certified.

Common questions

What is the difference between this and the plain Oval Rapture set?
Where the diamonds sit. On CDTBS005 the 0.70ct of pave is on the wedding band; here 0.30ct is set into the engagement ring's own curve and the band is plain. This one looks finished worn alone; that one has more total sparkle.

Does the fitted band have diamonds?
No — it is plain polished gold, cut to the ring's contour. That is intentional, so the demi-pave on the ring stays the focal line.

Is an east-west oval a passing trend?
It has been a recognized setting style since at least the mid-century and has come back strongly in the last few years. Whether that makes it timeless or current is a judgement call — but it is not something we invented last season.

Can I have the band made with pave instead?
