This 1.5 carat marquise is cut with old European faceting, which gives it a chunkier, more antique look than a modern marquise, with broad facets and a deeper body. The band beneath is fine and plain, and its two ends sweep in opposite directions to meet the points, tipping the stone slightly off the line of the finger.
The setting
Four claws sit at the compass points: one over each tip and one on each long side. The tip claws guard the points, always the weakest part of a marquise, while the side claws hold the stone square in the head. At about 1.6 millimeters the bypass shank is a deliberate contrast with the weight of the stone, although a band this slim shrugs off knocks less well than a heavier one. Because antique marquise faceting is uncommon, the stone is not in the diamond selector and is supplied with the ring.
About our lab-grown diamonds
Every stone we set is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Center stones of 1 carat and above ship with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, color and clarity. Melee and pave stones are matched to the same color and clarity range but are not individually certified.
Common questions
How do I pair a wedding band with a bypass?
The two shank ends leave the band at different points, so a straight band touches on one side and gaps on the other. Many people like that gap; if you want the rings to lock together, a band can be curved to follow the swirl.
Is a 1.6 mm band strong enough for a 1.5 ct stone?
For everyday wear with some care, yes, but it will show wear and can bend sooner than a heavier shank. Take it off for lifting and hard manual work, and ask about a thicker shank if you are hard on your hands.
Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The design, the cut and the carat weight, yes. Individual stones vary slightly, and colored stones in particular read differently under daylight and warm indoor light. We photograph your finished ring and send you those images before it ships.
Is the center stone certified?
Yes. Every center stone of 1 carat and above ships with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, color and clarity. Accent and pave stones are matched to the same color and clarity range but are not individually certified.

Doubts? Good.
The right ring deserves them.
Yes. 100%. They're chemically, optically, and physically identical to mined diamonds — same hardness, same fire, same sparkle. Even a jeweler can't tell them apart without specialized equipment. The only difference is origin: ours grew in a few weeks instead of a few billion years.
Ready-to-ship pieces arrive in 3–5 business days with free insured shipping. Custom rings and bridal sets take 2–3 weeks — because each is handcrafted to order. We'll keep you posted at every stage, including a final photo before it ships.
No-questions-asked 30-day returns on every non-customized piece. If it's not perfect, send it back — full refund, no awkward calls. For custom and engraved pieces, we offer store credit so you can choose again.
Complimentary resizing within the first month— including a return-shipping label. Our lifetime warranty also covers ongoing maintenance, polishing, and minor repairs at no cost. The ring is yours forever; so is our service.
