Two arms cross over each other at the front of the ring, and the whole crossing is covered in diamonds that refuse to line up — pears lying sideways, an oval on the diagonal, a marquise pointing off at its own angle, small rounds packed into whatever space is left. It looks scattered because it was designed to.

The band

Deliberate randomness takes more setting time than a straight row, not less. Every one of the twelve stones has its own seat cut at its own angle and depth, and the small rounds are placed last, individually, to close the gaps the larger shapes leave behind. The result has no repeating rhythm at all, which is why it never reads as a pattern you have seen before. Total 1.10 carats across four different cuts.

About our lab-grown diamonds

Every stone in this band is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. The stones are matched to one another for color and clarity across the whole ring and certified as a set rather than individually, which is standard for calibrated stones of this size.

Common questions

Will the cluster catch on clothing?
Less than you would expect. The stones are set low into the arms rather than raised on claws above them, and the tallest point of the ring is the crossover itself, not any individual stone. Wool sweaters are the usual test and this one passes.

Are the stone positions identical on every ring?
Near enough. The layout is cut from one master, so the shapes and angles repeat, but a hand-set cluster always has a fraction of a degree in it. We photograph the finished ring and send you the images before it ships.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a small calibrated stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
