The band spirals rather than closes, and its upper arm is set with a row of oval diamonds. The marquise hangs point-down from the lower opening.

The setting

The shank is an open spiral: it passes itself, so the upper arm arcs above the finger while the lower one drops away. Along the upper arc sits a row of shared-claw oval accents, graduating outward, about 0.80ct in total. The marquise is claw-set point-down at the mouth of the spiral, hanging below the line of the band. Using ovals rather than rounds on the shoulder is unusual and expensive — they cost more per carat and have to be matched for outline as well as size — and it is what makes the row read as jewelry rather than as melee.

Common questions

Why oval accents instead of round?
They are longer, so a row of them covers more of the band with fewer stones and reads as a chain of shapes rather than a line of sparkle. They also echo the marquise.

Does the hanging stone move?
No — it is claw-set rigidly to the end of the shank. It only looks suspended.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.
