The band rises, folds around the marquise like a closing hand and carries on. There is not a single claw on the ring.

The setting

The marquise lies flat across the finger inside a collar formed from the shank itself — the metal wraps the lower girdle and both points, then sweeps away on either side. With no claws, nothing stands proud of the stone, so the ring slides under a sleeve and never catches on knitwear. A full wrap like this is set by pushing metal against the stone by hand, a slower job than dropping in claws, and it is the reason the edge of the collar sits so tight to the girdle.

Common questions

Is a collar setting secure?
More secure than claws, in practice. The stone is held all the way round rather than at four points, and there is nothing to bend or snag.

Can the stone be swapped later?
Yes, but the collar has to be opened and re-set by a jeweler, which is not a five-minute job the way replacing a claw-set stone is.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Is the center stone certified?
