The setting

The marquise is set Split Shank in a shallow flat bezel that meets the shank directly, with no gallery, no basket and no lift. The band tapers slightly toward the back. Because the bezel is flat rather than raised, the profile is the lowest of any setting in this collection — the stone sits practically on the skin. That also means the pavilion is close to the finger and gets less light from below, so the cut quality of the stone matters more here than in an open setting.

Common questions

Does a low setting make the diamond look duller?
Slightly, in any bezel — less light enters from below. A well-cut stone still reads bright; a poorly cut one has nowhere to hide. We only set stones with excellent proportions in this mount.

Best for someone who works with their hands?
Yes. It is the flattest and smoothest setting here — nothing protrudes, nothing snags.
