The diamond sits inside a thick gold heart of its own outline, so the shape is doubled — once in stone, once in metal.

The setting

A heart-cut diamond is held point-down inside a broad rub-over frame that traces its outline exactly, cleft and all, on a plain round shank. Cutting a frame to a heart is far harder than cutting one to an oval: the cleft has to come to a clean point on the inside, and the two lobes must match, or the whole ring looks lopsided. There are no accent stones — the design is the shape repeated, and adding melee would blur the outline that everything depends on.

Common questions

What should I look for in a heart-cut diamond?
Symmetry above everything. The two lobes should be identical and the cleft sharp and centered. A heart with an uneven cleft looks wrong from across the room, whatever its clarity grade.

Is a heart cut fragile?
The point at the bottom is the vulnerable part, and here it is completely enclosed in gold — which is the best argument for this setting.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The setting, yes — those are photographs of this setting made in our workshop. The diamond in them is one specific stone, so a different center stone will not look identical: a heavier one covers more of the finger and sits slightly higher. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.
