Sixteen emerald-cut diamonds turned across the finger, each in its own full bezel, with the bezels touching so the band is a continuous rectangle of gold with sixteen long windows let into it. Step cuts do not sparkle — they flash — and a whole circle of them behaves like nothing else on a hand.

The band

An emerald cut is a step cut under a cropped-corner outline, which is exactly why it suits this treatment: the corners give neighboring bezels a flat edge to meet along, so sixteen of them nest with almost no wasted gold. Because the facets are long parallel planes rather than tiny brilliant facets, the light comes back in wide sheets as the hand turns, going bright and dark rather than twinkling. 1.50 carats in total.

Common questions

Do emerald cuts show inclusions more?
Yes — the long open facets act like windows, so clarity matters more than it does on a brilliant cut. We match these to VS or better across the whole band and check every stone before setting, which is also why a step-cut band costs more than a brilliant one of the same weight.

Is the band comfortable at 2.2mm?
The inside edge is rounded and the bezels are flush on the outside, so it wears more easily than the width suggests. It is a substantial ring and it is meant to be — if you normally wear something under 3mm, ask us for the measurements first.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a 0.10ct melee stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
