Thirteen emerald cuts, each standing on end, set shoulder to shoulder across a band that dips into a soft V at the center. Emerald cuts do not sparkle — they flash in long broad planes — so this reads as a row of mirrors rather than a line of glitter.

The band

Setting emerald cuts upright across a chevron is harder than it looks, because every stone sits at a slightly different angle as the band turns through the V. Each seat has to be cut individually to that angle or the table facets stop lining up and the row goes crooked. Done properly, as here, the tops form one continuous stepped plane that follows the dip. Total weight 1.45 carats across thirteen stones.

Common questions

Why do emerald cuts look darker than round stones?
Because they are cut for clarity and shape, not for fire. An emerald cut has long step facets that act like mirrors, so it flashes white and gray in broad planes instead of scattering rainbow light. It is a completely different look and it is why emerald cuts show inclusions more — which is why we hold this style to a tighter clarity range.

Will the V point catch on things?
The dip is soft rather than sharp — it is a shallow chevron, not a spike — and the stones at the center sit flush with their neighbors. It catches no more than a straight band of the same width.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a small calibrated stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
