This 1 ct marquise lab-grown cyan blue diamond reads more teal than pure blue in most light, with green showing toward the tips. The long, narrow shape makes a finger look slimmer, and the color keeps it from reading as a classic white solitaire.

The setting

Six claws hold it: V-claws cap both points and four round claws grip the sides. Under the stone a hidden halo of about 20–24 tiny rounds circles the collar, seen only in profile. The band is about 2.2 mm and flat-topped, with a single row of rounds set into a groove and held by small beads, running about halfway around. Setting them in a groove keeps the stones lower and better protected than raised shared-prong pave, at the cost of a little less light from the sides.

Why is this marquise not in the diamond selector?
It is a colored lab-grown diamond, sourced individually for this setting, and the Ring Builder offers white centers only. The ring comes with this 1 ct cyan blue marquise already fitted to its six-claw head.

Do the V-claws protect the marquise points?
Yes. The two tips are the thinnest parts of a marquise and the likeliest to chip. Each V-claw wraps both faces of a point, so a knock lands on metal first. Check them once a year, as a bent V-claw is easy to reshape before it becomes a problem.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
The design, the cut and the carat weight, yes. Individual stones vary slightly, and colored stones in particular read differently under daylight and warm indoor light. We photograph your finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Where does the color come from?
Lab-grown colored diamonds take their color either from trace elements during growth or from a treatment after growth, and the certificate states which. Either way the color is stable in normal wear and cleaning; avoid holding the ring in a jeweler's torch flame during any repair, which is the one thing that can alter treated color.

Is the center stone certified?
Yes. Every center stone of 1 carat and above ships with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, color and clarity. Accent and pave stones are matched to the same color and clarity range but are not individually certified.
