Ten tapered baguettes fanning outward like rays from a solid half-circle of gold, with a single bezel-set round sitting at the center of the arc. Worn under a solitaire the fan opens around the stone; worn on its own it is unmistakably a sunburst, and it reads that way from across a room.

The band

Tapered baguettes are the right cut for a fan because they are already wedge-shaped — set narrow-end-in, they radiate naturally without the gaps you would get from parallel-sided stones. The lengths graduate too: longest at the top of the arc, shortest at the ends, which is what gives the fan its curved outer edge. The arc itself is solid gold, and the round diamond bezelled at its center is what stops the middle looking empty. Nine stones, 0.36 carats.

Common questions

Does the fan stick up off the finger?
It sits higher than a plain band, yes — the rays lie flat but the arc raises them off the shank. It is not a ring to wear under a tight glove. Against an engagement ring it lies in the space the solitaire already occupies, so it adds nothing to the overall height.

Can it be worn as the only ring?
It was designed to nest, but it stands up alone better than most contour bands because the fan makes a complete shape rather than an obviously empty curve. Worn on a middle finger with nothing else it reads as a statement ring.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a 0.10ct melee stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
