Nine baguettes lying across a fine band, each one separated from the next by a narrow upright bar of gold. The bars are structural and decorative at once: they hold the stones and they cut the run into nine bright rectangles instead of one continuous strip.

The band

Bar setting is the cleanest way to hold a baguette, because a baguette has straight sides and a bar has a straight face — the stone slides into a channel cut in the rail and the metal is pressed down along its whole length rather than at four points. Nothing sits proud, nothing can rotate, and the gold between the stones gives the eye a rhythm. Nine stones, 0.55 carats, on a band only 2mm wide.

Common questions

Do baguettes show inclusions?
More than a round brilliant, yes — like all step cuts they are mirrors rather than prisms. These are matched within a tight clarity range and checked as a set before they are laid up, because one cloudy stone in a row of nine is immediately visible.

Can this be resized?
Within a size. The set section covers roughly half the band and there is plain metal at the back, but the bar spacing is fixed, so a big resize would leave an uneven gap where the join lands.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a small calibrated stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
