Baguette, round, baguette, round, the whole way round the finger, with a fine gold bar standing between each pair. The alternation gives you two completely different kinds of light on one band — the long flat flash of a step cut and the scatter of a brilliant — and the bars keep them from blurring into each other.

The band

Bar setting is the right choice here precisely because the cuts differ: a shared claw would have to grip a straight edge on one side and a curve on the other, while a bar simply stands between them and holds both. The baguettes are set east-west, across the band, so their long edges run parallel to the bars and the geometry stays rectilinear. Twenty-two stones, 0.40 carats, on a fine 2mm band.

Common questions

Which cut carries the ring?
The baguettes, visually — they are larger in footprint and they flash rather than sparkle, so they are what you notice first. The rounds fill the gaps between them with movement. Take either out and the band loses most of its character.

Is a 2mm eternity band too fine?
It is fine, and that is the point — it stacks against an engagement ring without adding bulk. It will not take the abuse a 4mm band will. In 14K or platinum it is a perfectly reasonable everyday ring; in 18K it is a little softer, so worth knowing if you are hard on your hands.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a 0.10ct melee stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
