Baguette, round, baguette, round — seventeen stones alternating in a single line that runs past two-thirds of the way around the band. Two cuts that behave completely differently in light, next to each other, over and over.

The band

The reason this combination has survived a century is that the two cuts cover for each other. Baguettes flash in flat planes and go dark at some angles; rounds scatter light and stay bright at all of them. Alternate them and the band never has a dead spot as your hand moves. The rounds here are deliberately smaller than the baguettes are wide, which keeps the rectangles reading as the main event. Seventeen stones, 0.50 carats.

Common questions

Why do the two cuts look different in color?
They are the same color grade — a step cut just returns less light, so it reads slightly grayer against a brilliant beside it. It is a property of the cut, not a mismatch, and it is most visible in dim indoor light.

How far around does the setting go?
A little past two-thirds, which is further than a standard half eternity. From every normal viewing angle it looks like a full eternity band, and it still resizes because the back third is plain.

Do the photographs show the exact ring I will receive?
Very nearly. This is a finished band made to a fixed specification, not a setting built around a stone you choose, so the ring in these photographs and the ring you receive are the same design at the same weight. We photograph every finished ring and send you those images before it ships.

Are the diamonds certified?
As a set, yes. Calibrated stones of this size are not individually certified — nobody grades a small calibrated stone on its own paper — so we supply a certificate covering the total carat weight and the matched color and clarity range for the whole band.
