Most Asscher rings sit the stone square to the finger and leave it there. The Rapture setting turns it on the diagonal and lets a single ribbon of gold sweep past it — so the step-cut facets catch light from the corners instead of head-on, and the ring reads as a curve rather than a box.

The ring

The 1.5 carat Asscher cut center is cradled in a half-bezel: the shank rises on one side, wraps the girdle, and passes behind the stone to finish on the other. Two slim claws hold the exposed corners. Because the bezel carries most of the load, the profile stays low and nothing snags — and the open sides keep light moving through the stone's deep pavilion.

The band

The matching band is cut to the exact contour of that sweep. Fourteen round lab-grown diamonds, 0.70ct total, run along the raised edge in shared-prong pave and stop where the setting begins, so the two rings sit flush with no gap and no rocking. Worn alone the band is a clean chevron; worn together, the diamond line finishes the arc the setting starts.

Every stone we set is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Centre stones of 1 carat and above ship with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, colour and clarity. Melee and pave stones are matched to the same colour and clarity range but are not individually certified.

Common questions

Does the wedding band sit flush against the engagement ring?
Yes. The band is contoured to the exact curve of the Rapture setting, so the two rings nest together with no gap. It is not a straight band and will not sit flat against this ring's profile.

How does an Asscher cut compare to an emerald cut at the same carat weight?
An Asscher is square where an emerald is rectangular, and its step facets run to the corners rather than along the length. At 1.5ct the Asscher looks smaller face-up than a 1.5ct emerald but noticeably deeper, with a stronger flash from the center.

Can I buy the engagement ring and band separately?
Yes. Message us and we will list them individually, though the set price is lower than the two pieces bought apart.

Will the diagonal setting catch on clothing?
Less than a tall four-prong solitaire. The half-bezel covers the girdle and the profile sits low, which is the main reason we set this stone the way we do.

Is the center diamond certified?
Yes — the 1.5ct center comes with an IGI certificate. Pave stones under 1 carat are not individually certified; they are matched to the same colour and clarity range as the center.
