A crescent of small diamonds runs underneath the pear and out along one shoulder, like the stone has cast a bright shadow. It is a small amount of pave — 0.20ct — placed exactly where it does the most.

The design

The 1ct pear lies east-west, roughly 8.5 x 5.5mm, held between two flat gold collars. Below it the shank curves into a crescent bead-set with small round lab-grown diamonds, continuing out onto one shoulder and stopping before the back of the band. The pave sits below the girdle rather than beside it, so it reads as a line of light under the stone rather than as shoulder stones flanking it — a quieter effect than a three-stone or a halo, and a much less common one.

Why this ring exists once

One piece. The crescent was set to this stone's curve; it does not transfer to another pear.

About our lab-grown diamonds

Every stone we set is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Center stones of 1 carat and above ship with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, color and clarity. Melee and pave stones are matched to the same color and clarity range but are not individually certified.

Common questions

Where exactly is the pave?
On the crescent of metal directly beneath the center stone and running out along one shoulder. 0.20ct in total, all small round lab-grown diamonds.

Is this a hidden halo?
No. A hidden halo encircles the stone under the girdle and is invisible from above. This crescent sits on the shank and is visible from the front — it is a different effect entirely.

How is it different from CDT019?
Same design, different center: CDT019 is a 1ct oval. This one is a 1ct pear.

Are the small stones secure?
Bead-set pave is secure with normal wear. Avoid knocking the shoulder against hard surfaces, and have the beads checked yearly — the same advice as for any pave ring.

Is the pear point protected?
It sits inside a flat collar that folds over the tip. Better protection than a claw.
