The oval lies sideways; a line of small diamonds curves beneath it and runs out along the shoulder. From directly above you see one large stone and a bright edge under it — the pave never crowds the center, which is the point.

The design

The 1ct oval sits east-west, roughly 7.7 x 5.7mm, gripped between two flat polished collars at the ends of its long axis. The shank crosses beneath and forms a crescent bead-set with 0.20ct of small round lab-grown diamonds, tapering out onto one shoulder. Setting an oval east-west also puts its bowtie — the dark band across the short axis that every oval has — where the eye is least likely to settle, and the pave line beneath draws attention further away from it.

Every stone we set is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Center stones of 1 carat and above ship with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, color and clarity. Melee and pave stones are matched to the same color and clarity range but are not individually certified.

Common questions

Does the east-west setting hide the bowtie?
It helps. The bowtie runs across the oval's short axis; turning the stone sideways moves it out of the eye's natural path. No oval is bowtie-free.

How much sparkle does 0.20ct of pave add?
A fine bright line, not a blaze. It is scaled to a 1ct center — enough to catch light when the hand moves, not enough to compete.

How is this different from CDT018?
Identical setting, different stone: CDT018 is a 1ct pear, this is a 1ct oval.

Will a straight wedding band sit against it?
Yes, on the flat side. The crossover means one side is higher than the other, so it will not sit symmetrically on both.

Are the collars secure for an oval?
Yes — they grip the two ends of the long axis, which is where an oval is thickest and strongest.
