No claws at all. The 1.5ct marquise is fully bezeled — a continuous collar of gold around the entire girdle — and the shank loops over and under that collar so the whole ring looks tied rather than assembled.

The design

The marquise lies east-west, roughly 13mm across the finger, sunk into a full bezel that follows the stone's outline exactly, points included. The shank crosses above and below the bezel in two heavy rounded passes, meeting behind it. There is nothing to snag: no claw tips, no raised head, no gallery. For anyone who works with their hands, or wears gloves, or has simply lost a stone from a prong setting before, this is the most protective setting in the group.

Why this ring exists once

One piece. A full bezel has to be cut to the exact outline of one stone — this one — which is why bezel-set marquises are almost never sold as a repeating style.

Every stone we set is a lab-grown diamond — the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behavior as a mined diamond, grown rather than extracted. Center stones of 1 carat and above ship with an IGI certificate stating carat, cut, color and clarity. Melee and pave stones are matched to the same color and clarity range but are not individually certified.

Common questions

Is a full bezel more secure than claws?
Yes, materially. The metal wraps the entire girdle including both points, so there is no exposed edge and nothing to bend or catch. It is the setting jewelers recommend for people who are hard on their hands.

Does a bezel make the diamond look smaller?
Slightly — the collar covers the outermost edge of the stone. In exchange it makes the outline crisper and the stone look brighter against the gold. At 1.5ct the difference is small.

Does it reduce sparkle?
A little light is blocked from the sides. The open back keeps light coming through the pavilion, so the stone still returns light — it reads as a deeper, less flashy brilliance than a claw setting.

Will it snag on clothing?
No. That is the main practical reason to choose this ring over anything else in the collection.

Can a wedding band sit against it?
Yes — the bezel and shank present a smooth face, so a straight band sits against it without catching.
